We believe the best way to change our community is to:
Serve people – Be the hands and feet of Jesus!
Rebuild dignity – Be the Light in the darkness!
Freedom13, founded on February 2, 2015, is on a mission to rebuild dignity in the lives of those we serve. Our theme verse (and why the number 13) is Galatians 5:13 (ESV) – “For you were called to freedom brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.”
Jesus Christ is the reason for which Freedom13 Ministries exists. Its mission and functions represent the heart of God. Our resources and curriculum are based on the Word of God and follow the commands and teachings of Jesus Christ as outlined in the Bible. Who Jesus is, His life, death, and resurrection and the way He lived His life – serving others, loving the poor, outcast, orphan, and stranger – serve as the lifeblood of Freedom13. We believe the best way to change our community is to be like Jesus in every way – to live the way He did, serve the way He served, and give our lives to the work of God’s kingdom.
We serve North Louisiana through jail ministry in Lincoln and Ouachita Parish (Hope Restored). We offer workshops for students and parents emphasizing the reality of technology, social media, and the impact smart phones have on mental health (Hope Forward). We also offer residential recovery resources and local connections for women who need a fresh start in life (Hope Connection). Regular outreach events include Prayer Walks, A Queen’s Celebration, and Called to Freedom.
